Platom’s story begins a new chapter on the eve of the company’s 25th anniversary, when Kirsi Hassinen, M.Sc. (Tech.), starts as the company’s CEO on 1.10.2023.

Platom has delivered a spent nuclear fuel drying system for Posiva’s encapsulation plant, where Posiva is the responsible licence holder. Drying of nuclear fuel is essential part of the encapsulation process to ensure long term safety of nuclear fuel in the capsule.

In September 2022, we renewed our organizational and service structure so that we could serve our customers even more efficiently based on their needs.

This week the IAEA is organizing an event and Platom’s Leading Expert Ville Nurmilaukas has been nominated to participate in this Technical Meeting on Instrumentation & Control and Computer Security for Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and Microreactors (MR).

We have gratefully received the award at the autumn meeting of FinNuclear Association on 13th of December. Platom has been chosen as member of the year 2021. We were chosen due to our recent growth in the nuclear energy field and of our activity as a member.

Platom has the privilege of being one of the companies to participate in VTT’s new project on the possibilities of fusion energy. Platom’s vast knowledge in the field of licensing, qualification and authority requirements will be useful to this project.
