Description

Juha-Pekka is in the nuclear power sector because he feels that combating climate change and carbon-neutral energy production will be largely dependent on nuclear power, at least in the medium term. He also particularly enjoys understanding and managing challenging nuclear power entities. At Platom, Juha-Pekka works as a wide-ranging expert in the nuclear power industry.

Master of Science, Energy and Nuclear engineering.

Experience

Juha-Pekka started working in the nuclear power industry in 2009 when worked on radiation control tasks in his first annual outage in a nuclear power plant. Between years 2010 and 2014, summer work was related to radiation monitoring, including work in Sweden. In addition, the bachelor's thesis related to reactor physics modeling was completed in 2012. In 2014, Juha-Pekka did a diploma thesis in Switzerland related to experimental validation of modeling codes.

Juha-Pekka started at Platom in January 2015. His duties have included writing expert reports and compiling licensing materials for nuclear power plants. Topics include e.g. radioactive waste management, decontamination and decommissioning of facilities, modeling of activation of structures, requirements management of mechanical equipment, condensate filtration, diversification of reactor pressure vessel surface measurement, safety-classified process systems and containment.
