Kimmo works in the energy industry because energy will always be needed. He specifically chose the nuclear industry because its future seemed bright when he was searching for jobs and indeed it still does today. Nuclear power is a very good fit especially for a society seeking carbon neutrality.

Kimmo has worked in the nuclear industry since 2010. He began his nuclear career in radiation protection at the Olkiluoto nuclear power plant. He spent his summers working in radiation protection until he began working on his master’s thesis when Kimmo started to study encapsulation and disposal of radioactive waste, and radiation safety of nuclear power plants. After his graduation in 2015 Kimmo moved to Platom to continue his work on radioactive waste disposal. At Platom he focuses on management of authority regulations. Radiation safety and regulation management are his main areas of expertise.
